EOC or Equal Opportunity Cell is a University Grant Commision(UGC) guidelined society, which was established in October, 2006 to support students from reserved category, to provide sessions and guidance to disadvantaged group, to discuss caste, reservation, our problems in the campus with out fear.

The main problem faced by Person With Disabilities and those belonging to the marginalized sections society stem from disabling environment and socio-cultural and economic barriers. Discrimination against any person on the grounds of his/her disability or physical limitations and minority status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights and even constitutional obligations. Their problems in the field of higher education are a matter of great concern which needs urgent attention.

The Indian society is singular in terms of the multifarious hues it has absorbed in its fabric. Living within its clinch are numerous groups that are segregated on the basis of language, ethnicity, class, caste, religion etc. This inequitable situation warrants a redemption which is possible through Enabling Unit measures and policies.

Arise Impact On 14th of August, the Equal Opportunity Cell of Hansraj College in collaboration with Arise Impact organised a workshop on interview preparation for the persons with disability. It was a 2-hour online workshop from 1pm to 3pm which was organised on the Google Meet platform. The workshop was chaired by the Principal of Hansraj College, Dr. Rama, convenor of Equal Opportunity Cell, Hansraj College, Dr. Baljeet Kaur, the Coordinator of Enabling Unit, Hansraj College, Mr. Arun Kumar and two Trainers from ARISE Impact: Komal Chorariya and Nithya Bahri. The objective of the workshop was to train and enlighten the students with disabilities about the basic and essential fundamentals of interview preparation for jobs. The trainer for the workshop was Miss Komal Choraria, who informed the students about various strategies for interview preparation. The workshop was well-structured and it was divided in different segments; each segment was followed by discussions.
