Sections

  • Acquisition Section: It deals with acquiring the books through purchase, gifts and exchange. The reading materials are acquired in this section as per the need of readers.
  • Technical Section: It is located on the first floor, deals with the technical issues related to ID cards, and books. The cataloguing, tagging and classification of books are to be held in this section.
  • Circulation Section: In Hans Raj College Library, there are two circulation points located at ground and first floor. It deals with the issue and return of books.
  • Periodical Section: It deals with the works i.e. recording, subscription, reminder to vendors and payment of magazines, journals, and newspapers. Periodicals are meant for reference only.
  • Membership Section: This section deals with issuance of a Membership Card( i.e. College ID card) to students and faculty. This section is responsible for issue, renew and cancellation of card/membership of users of college.
  • Book Bank Section: This section facilitates the text books to students for the long term i.e. one session. This service is only provided to the limited and needy students after submission of form of a book bank.
  • E-Resource Room: There are 20 computers are available in this section for the students. They can use computer and internet in their study and to search the database that is available at DULS.
  • Reading and Recording Room (Enabling Unit): This section is located on ground floor for the physically challenged and visually impaired students. This section provides the reading room facility to students, they can study in this room.
  • Fine Collection Point: It is the point located at window of library, from where users can pay their fine as per their card’s status.
  • Property Counter: It is located outside the library for keeping the bags and belongings on this counter.
  • Drop Box: Drop box are used for the purpose of return the issued books from outside the library. Students can take print receipts of the returned books
