Indian U19 captain Mr. Ishaan Shishodia

Greetings from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences!

We are elated to inform you that the Indian U19 captain Mr. Ishaan Shishodia from Hansraj College led our national team out in Dashrath Stadium wearing the armband with pride. India beat hosts Nepal 3-2 in the semi-finals under his leadership reaching the finals against Pakistan.

We congratulate him on such a great accomplishment and wish him and our young Indian team all the best for the finals.

World Archery Youth Championship 2023


We are elated to inform you that Mr. Priyansh Sharma from Hansraj College has won India it's second Gold Medal along with his partner Avneet Kaur in the World Archery Youth Championship 2023 held in Ireland. This compound junior mixed team defeated Israel in the finals by 146-144 claiming the championship title with their prowess.

We congratulate him on such a great accomplishment and wish him all the best for all his future endeavours.

We feel proud to share that one of our students from Archery have done us proud in *Khelo India University Games 2023* held at *Lucknow, Uttar Pradhesh*

*Rishabh Yadav* of Third Year (B.A. Prog) won *Gold Medal* in Individual Mens Compound Category and became the overall *Compound Men’s Champion*.

He also won *Bronze Medal in Compound Mix Team Event* along with Manvi Singh of Miranda House College, University of Delhi.

Kabir Khanna

The Startup Weekend was organised by the Masters' Union Innovation Lab on 18-19th March as a 48-hour hackathon aimed at addressing real-world issues.
Aspiring entrepreneurs formed teams through networking and then selected one problem statement from a set of options provided. They brainstormed and validated their ideas, built prototypes, and presented their startups to a panel of judges and venture capitalists.

Kabir Khanna, a second-year student at the University of Delhi's Hansraj College, participated in the event, and his team earned the first runner-up position, receiving a prize of 50,000 INR.

It is our privilege to share the good news that Dr. Arti Mishra recently appointed in the Department of Botany, Hansraj College, University of Delhi has received the prestigious Carl Tryggers Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the Carl Tryggers Stiftelse för Vetenskaplig Forskning organisation (https://www.carltryggersstiftelse.se/this-is-the-carl-trygger-foundation/).

In her postdoctoral work, she will be working on the Strategic Potato Cultivation in Västerbotten” at Umeå Plant Science Centre (https://www.upsc.se/), Umeå Sweden. The project focuses on fundamental and applied plant research using endophytic Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) to reduce the risk of biotic stress in potato cultivators.

Basketball Team Hansraj College

"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships."

Hansraj Basketball Team was announced the victor of the 24th YMCA Inter-college Basketball Championship 2022 on 28th of September, held at YMCA, Delhi. 

Our basketball team managed to beat 30+ teams which engaged in the championship. They defeated SRCC in the Finals with a margin of 9 points and with the team's astounding co-ordination throughout the championship, they took the trophy home.

Ms. Shristi is an esteemed alumni of Hansraj College where she pursued an undergraduate degree in Botany.
