With such changes taking place, career planning has become even more complex and perplexing. Department of Mathematics at Hansraj brought up a series of sessions under the name “Lakshya: The Career Talks” to assist the students in dealing with the mind-boggling question: ‘What after mathematics?’

Annual Academic Meet: Shri Shanti Narayan Mathematics Conclave
Shri Shanti Narayan Conclave is the Annual Academic fest of the Department named after Shri Shanti Narayan, an exceptionally well-known educationist who went on to become the second principal of Hansraj College. The conclave spans over 2 days which includes various academically rich events like Speaker Sessions, Paper Presentation Competition, and even a Mathematical quiz. The event attracts intelligent minds from across colleges including students and academicians. It helps the students gain knowledge outside their books as well as encourages a research mindset in them. The department was extremely delighted to host an interview with Dr. Neena Gupta, Ramanujan Awardee 2021 for the latest edition of the Conclave.
The Annual Fest of the Department of Mathematics, known as Identity, continues to accomplish inconceivable feats and establish ever-more-impressive benchmarks with each passing year. The entire mathematics department at Hansraj College has shown an unprecedented level of attention and excitement for the project. More than four thousand students from various colleges located throughout the national capital region attend the celebration, and at least two thousands of these students take part in the many competitions and other events that are arranged by the department.

The department also conducts various speaker sessions throughout the year in which various mathematics scholars give insights of their knowledge to the students.
The Department organizes a variety of educational and knowledge-enhancing sessions in the form of Mathematical Workshops. In 2021, workshops entitled "How to Plan Projects?" An Inquiry Approach to Learning" by discussing the Basic Number System was organized. Workshop on Mathematical Softwares such as Mathematica, MATLAB, and MAPLE was organized to get insight understanding the working of all mentioned Softwares.
